McDan Aviation, a subsidiary of the McDan Group, has expressed disappointment over the Ghana Airports Company Limited’s (GACL) decision to restrict access to its aviation terminal.

In a statement by CEO Kwaku Ampronfi, the company described the move as unexpected, especially given that discussions to address outstanding issues are ongoing.

McDan acknowledged its financial obligations regarding the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) terminal and noted significant payments made previously.

The company also clarified that it made a payment last week and plans to resume further payments in January 2025.

Refuting reports of a $3 million debt, McDan called such claims inaccurate and misleading.

The statement further addressed a separate legal dispute over a parcel of land acquired from GACL, which is under litigation due to third-party claims.

McDan Aviation explained that it had informed GACL that payments related to the land would be suspended until the legal matter is resolved.

“It is unfortunate that GACL has taken this action when the issues are not interconnected,” Mr. Ampronfi stated.

Despite the setback, McDan Aviation reaffirmed its commitment to engaging constructively with GACL to reach a fair resolution.
