Olympique de Marseille have confirmed the departure of head coach Roberto De Zerbi, with both parties agreeing to end their collaboration by mutual consent.
The Ligue 1 club announced that the decision followed discussions involving key figures in the club’s hierarchy, including the owner, president, director of football and the coach himself, leading to a collective agreement that a change in leadership was necessary.

In an official statement, Marseille described the move as a “difficult collective decision”, taken after careful consideration and in what the club believes is the best sporting interest as the season approaches its decisive stages.
Despite the separation, the club paid tribute to De Zerbi’s contribution during his tenure, highlighting his professionalism and commitment, particularly during the 2024/25 campaign, where he guided the team to a second-place league finish.

Marseille concluded by wishing the Italian manager the very best in his future endeavours, bringing an end to a spell that, while brief, delivered notable progress on the domestic front.
