A man who stood as surety, to enable an electrician who allegedly defiled a seven-year-old in Agona Nyakrom get bail has withdrawn his guaranty.
This follows the accused person’s failure to attend the court presided over by Jonathan Nunoo.
When the Agona Swedru Circuit Court called the case on Thursday, the surety insisted he could no longer back the accused person nor guaranty that he will always be in court to answer the charges against him.
The court on July 2 issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the 30-year-old, Abdellah Idriss, alias Baba Star Boy, who has been accused of violently sexually assaulting a kindergarten pupil.
It was the first time the accused had failed to attend court but his bail condition included attending every court session.
With the surety backing out, without a replacement, the court rescinded its bail and ordered that the accused person be held in police custody, until he could meet the bail conditions.

While out, the girl asked for permission to attend to the call of nature at a nearby refuse dump. However, according to the victim, halfway to the place, he met the suspect, who dragged her into a porch and had sexual intercourse with her.
Some minutes later, the girl returned to her mother crying, but refused to talk, when she was asked what was wrong with her.
The girl’s mother, who is the complainant, thought she was involved in a fight with other children, decided to let it be.
However, the victim cried when the complaint was bathing her private parts days later, but refused to disclose her ordeal,
At this point, the prosecution said the mother threatened to cane the girl. She immediately narrated her ordeal, saying she could not tell her parents because the accused person warned her not to do, otherwise, she’ll die.
Subsequently, the victim took her mother to the accused person’s house, where the complainant confronted him, but he denied it.
The case was reported to the Nyakrom Police Station, and the accused was arrested.
During investigations, the suspect denied ever touching the girl, but admitted that the girl with four other children came to his room to watch television.Age
The girl’s mother had told theghanareport.com that the suspect confessed to fingering the girl when she confronted her, but the accused in his statement to the police denied ever doing that.
After the investigations, the suspect was charged and arraigned before the court on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.
