Police in Kumasi have arrested three people, including a 22-year-old woman, in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a young woman who was held for ransom earlier this month.
The suspects are Christiana Nyarko, Justice Arhin, aged 24, and Samuel Jackite,y aged 23.
Investigators say the trio abducted a 25-year-old woman, identified as Winefred Asieduwaa, in early February 2026 and confined her at a secret location in the Tanoso area.
According to preliminary police accounts, the victim was held for about a week while the suspects contacted her family to demand ransom money.
During that period, the family reportedly lived in fear and uncertainty, unsure of her condition and safety.
Police intelligence operations later led officers to the location, where the victim was rescued and the three suspects arrested.
She is said to be receiving care and support, while investigators continue to gather statements and verify details surrounding the incident
