Just in: NDC parliamentary aspirant dies days to party primaries

Parliamentary Aspirant (PA) for the August 24 primaries of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Max-Voy, also known as Martin Luther has died, according to family sources.

Sources confirmed to The Ghana Report, Max-Voy died at the Ridge Hospital late Sunday where he was on admission.

A statement from the family signed by Spokesperson Nathaniel Kofi Fiador said, “The Voryee, Norgbodzi and allied families regret to announce with shock the demise of Mr. Emmanuel Max-Voy. The sudden death occurred at the Ridge Hospital on Sunday, August 4, 2019 after a short illness.

The family wishes to state that Mr. Emmanuel Max-Voy did not die through kidney failure as painted by certain individuals and some media houses.”

The renowned Educationist and Managing Director of Happy Home Academy in Ashaiman, was said to have taken ill shortly after picking his nomination forms for the NDC primaries.

 

“He went to the vetting very ill and was even rushed to the hospital on emergency after the vetting.” The source.

Meanwhile, doctors at the Ridge Hospital are yet to make public what may have caused the death of the NDC Parliamentary Aspirant.

Also, Kafui Augusta Takyi, an NDC Parliamentary Aspirant for Afajato South Constituency in the Volta Region became paralyzed after she made her intentions known to contest the primaries.

According to reports, she was able to walk freely before picking her nomination forms.

Sources say, the lady is still paralyzed with almost three weeks to the party’s primaries.
