It will be difficult for Ghana to qualify for the 2026 World Cup if Otto Addo is retained – Robert Sackey
Former Black Maidens coach Robert Sackey has called on the Ghana Football Association to sack Black Stars head coach Otto Addo to improve Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
Sackey claims that Otto Addo is inexperienced and that his continued stay will hinder the four-time African champions’ ambitions of featuring in the tournament in Canada, the USA, and Mexico.
Calls have intensified for the former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach to be sacked after he failed to qualify Ghana for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
“Our technical team is inexperienced and that is why we are experiencing bad results. The approach needs to be changed. If the right approach is taken, it will bring about good results,” Sackey told Asempa FM.

Otto Addo is set to meet with the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, to discuss his technical report following the disappointing 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The Council is expected to make a decision about his future after the meeting.
