Hearts of Oak to represent Ghana in West African Challenge Cup tournament next month

One-time CAF Champions League winners Hearts of Oak will be representing Ghana at the maiden edition of the West African Challenge Cup.

Hearts of Oak will be participating in the much-anticipated six-club tournament slated for next month in Benin.

According to the organizers, the tournament, which will be staged between August 14 and 22, 2021, forms part of the ceremonial event which will be used to open the newly constructed Stades a l’Afrique facility in Benin.

DR Congo giants AS Vita Club, fast-rising Djiboutian side Arta Solar 7, Horoya Club, Sonabel of Burkina Faso and USN Club of Niger will all participate in the tournament which will kick off on August 14, 2021.
The 2020/21 Ghana Premier League leaders are set to leave the shores of Ghana to Benin for the tourney on August 10.
Organisers of the event, WACC, have appointed Ghanaian communications consortium Spark Golden Media Consult to manage publicity for the event.
Hearts of Oak who are just three points away from clinching their 21st Premier League title will be using the tournament as preparatory games for the 2021/22 CAF Champions League competition.
