Ghana Premier League (GPL) club, Accra Hearts of Oak, has named Edward Nii Odoom as their new head coach.
The decision was taken after the club terminated its contract with Kim Grant who had been in charge of the Phobians for about a year.
This follows a losing streak by the Phobians, the latest being a 1-0 home defeat to Berekem Chelsea on the first day of the 2019/20 season after a long domestic football break.
Prior to that, the Phobians lost 2-1 to bitter rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the 2019 President’s Cup as well as a poor run of form in the Ghana Special Competition.
The club took to their official twitter handled to announce the termination and named the new manager after several speculations on the future of Kim Grant.
“Accra Hearts of Oak and Director of Football Kim Grant have parted ways. Edward Nii Odoom takes over with immediate effect as the head coach. The club would like to ask for continuous support for Coach Odoom and we wish Coach Grant the very best in his future endeavours,” the club stated.
