The Ministry of Education has announced the disbursement of GH¢26 million to Institutional Suppliers responsible for supplying school uniforms and other items.

In a statement, the sector ministry explained that the money will also cover P.E. kits, and stationery among others as part of the Free Senior High School (FSHS) program.

According to the ministry, the amount released underscores the government’s commitment to fostering quality education and ensuring the smooth running of educational institutions.

The statement comes on the back of a series of picketing by the institutional suppliers over GH¢100 million debt.

The association expressed disappointment over the government’s failure to pay for uniforms and other essentials supplied to various Senior High Schools (SHS) over two academic years.

Below is the statement from the ministry.
