Govt dissolves National Cathedral Secretariat amid controversy
The Ghanaian government has officially dissolved the National Cathedral Secretariat, bringing an end to the controversial project that was initiated by former President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, confirmed that the government would no longer fund the abandoned National Cathedral project.
He emphasized that this decision aligns with the stance of former President John Dramani Mahama, who has consistently opposed the use of taxpayer funds for the project.
The project, aimed at creating a national Christian worship center and a symbol of Ghana’s religious heritage, has faced significant scrutiny due to concerns over financial mismanagement and corruption.
