Goalkeepers’ coaches undergo safeguarding and integrity training in Prampram

Coaches attending the Goalkeepers Training Course at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram have received critical Safeguarding and Integrity Training as part of their program.

The session, led by the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Integrity Officer, Obed Tuffour, emphasized the importance of honesty and ethical conduct in mentoring young players.

Tuffour stressed that goalkeeper trainers have a vital role in instilling good values in their players, which is key to their long-term success.

“As goalkeepers’ trainers, it is very important to instill good values in the players under our tutelage, so that they embody values that will make them successful as they progress in their career,” Tuffour stated.

The training covered crucial areas such as identifying and preventing match-fixing, avoiding betting-related activities, and upholding the overall integrity of the game.

Participants were also briefed on the proper channels for reporting any suspicions of match manipulation, reaffirming the GFA’s commitment to maintaining football’s integrity.

This initiative is aimed at equipping goalkeeper trainers with the knowledge to cultivate a new generation of footballers who prioritize ethical values and stay away from all forms of malpractice.
