Minority Leader Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has lashed out at the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for poor governance and economic mismanagement.

According to the Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam MP, “Ghana is in a mess; a gargantuan mess, a big fat mess. In fact, Ghana is in trouble. This Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government has been a monumental failure”.

He stressed that it has been a journey of frustration and despair for many Ghanaians in the last few years.

“It’s been eight years of lies, hopelessness, taxes,  borrowing, illegalities, wastage, poor governance, massive uncontrolled corruption and state capture. This government has failed Ghanaians,” he said amidst cheers.

The Minority leader was addressing party supporters in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, 2024, during the official campaign launch of the opposition NDC.

The launch officially kickstarts the party’s campaign on the theme, ‘Change To Reset Ghana’.

Bigwigs of the NDC, national executives, legislators and party supporters were seen in their white, black, green, and red umbrella party emblem.

Vehicles, bikes, and every available space were adorned with party paraphernalia.

He urged the populace to vote for their flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, to restore the country to its former glory.

On his part, the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee, Isaac Adongo, assured Ghanaians that John Mahama would fix Ghana’s economic challenges if elected into office.

“We will find a solution to fixing the problems of our country and create opportunities for our youth. Let me tell you that the only political party that has the history, of fixing challenging economies in our country is the NDC,” he assured.

For her part, the Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, also stressed that the NDC needs to win the election to protect the democracy of Ghana.

She noted that the Akufo-Addo administration had been a failure and further accused the government of “blatant corruption”.
