GFA launches Futsal Licence D Coaching Course at Prampram

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has commenced a Futsal Licence D Coaching Course at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram as part of efforts to strengthen coaching capacity and promote the development of the sport across the country.

The six-day programme began on Sunday, October 25, and is scheduled to end on Friday, October 30, 2026.

The course is being led by Moroccan CAF/FIFA Futsal instructor Ghassane El Barhami, who is guiding participants through key aspects of the fast-growing indoor football discipline.

Participants are receiving training in the fundamental principles of Futsal, covering technical and tactical development, physical preparation and the psychological aspects of the game.

The programme also includes sessions on the Laws of the Game and coaching methodology to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to train players effectively.

The initiative forms part of the GFA’s broader technical development strategy, which seeks to expand Futsal participation and improve the quality of coaching, particularly at the grassroots level.

By equipping coaches with specialised knowledge, the Association aims to create a stronger foundation for identifying and nurturing talent while improving the standard of the game in Ghana.

The course also provides an opportunity for coaches to deepen their understanding of Futsal, which has distinct technical and tactical demands compared with the traditional 11-a-side game.
