Ejisu by-election: Majority have decided to vote for LPG’s candidate – Kofi Akpaloo
The leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, is confident the LPG candidate will sway a majority of the votes in the Ejisu by-election.
Expressing confidence in the party’s candidate, Mr Akpaloo affirmed that many people have pledged their support for Beatrice Boakye, the LPG candidate.
“I will not say we will win the elections because the race is clearly between the NPP candidate, Kwabena Boateng, and Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, but we can pull a surprise in the sense that our votes will shock people.
“I can say that the majority have made up their minds to vote for the LPG candidate,” he said on Adom FM, monitored by theghanareport.com.
Meanwhile, voters in the Ejisu constituency have begun casting their ballots in the highly anticipated by-election to fill the vacant seat left by the late MP, John Kumah.
The late lawmaker and deputy Finance Minister died after a short illness on March 7, 2024.
The electoral exercise is taking place across 204 polling centres, providing an opportunity for 106,812 registered voters to participate in the democratic process.
The spotlight is on the NPP candidate Kwabena Boateng and defected former NPP MP Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, who is contesting independently.
The others are Esther Osei, representing the Convention People’s Party (CPP), and two independent candidates, Gabriel Agyemang Joseph and Attakorah Joseph.
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) opted out of the by-election.
