#ECMustListen trends as twitter users join new voters’ register controversy
Social media platform, Twitter, joined political bickering over the Electoral Commission’s plan to compile a new voters’ register for the 2020 general election.
While the governing New Patriotic Party supports the planned compilation along with a host of other smaller parties, the opposition National Democratic Congress has marshaled other smaller parties to resist the move.
The controversy has dragged on for months with no sign of the two main parties or the EC backing down.
On Friday morning, a hashtag, #ECMustListen, began trending on Twitter. It would soon become the number 1 issue on the social media site.

In the midst of this buffoonery being exhibited by Jean Mensa, the slay queen, the most surprising part is the silence of the Clergy! Just a couple of years back, they would hv mounted their pulpits casting innuendoes at Charlotte Osei and John Mahama! #ECMustListen pic.twitter.com/ijPSKap2Vc

This is the first time ever that the EC is attempting to develop a new register by excluding existing voter ID. Why should it be so?#ECMustListen pic.twitter.com/mlAnX9VnPv

When they say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely, it didn’t make meaning until @NAkufoAddo became pres and started showing his true colours by appointing for himself a new set of EC, attempting to rig the elections. But he cannot succeed. #EcMustListen pic.twitter.com/b8FJTgAw4q

Ghana is not for Jean Mensah. You can do what you want when it comes to election issues. You must listen to the voice of the people. Or your are a witch and you want covid-19 to kill all Ghanaians. It will not happen, we will resist.
E C should be careful about register. Ghana have creditable register for 2020 election. JDM is going to win by 52% .let kick Nana out.
