The Electoral Commission (EC) has revised media accreditation measures to enhance transparency and accountability in the 2024 general elections.
Media personnel with accreditation to cover polling stations will now be permitted to access constituency and regional collation centres using the same photo accreditation cards issued by the EC.
This follows internal discussions and consultations with key media stakeholders.
The EC aims to provide the media with greater flexibility and access to key election centres to ensure comprehensive coverage of the electoral process.
The Commission stated that the move underscores its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
By facilitating seamless access for media personnel, the EC aims to strengthen public confidence in the integrity of the electoral process.
