Earthquake disaster: Christian Atsu found alive – Turkey media
Reports from Turkey indicate that Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu has been rescued and receiving treatment following catastrophic earthquakes that have claimed over 4,000 lives.
“Christian Atsu has been pulled from the wreckage alive!” journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who broke the news of his trapping, tweeted early Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

Yağız has been providing updates from Turkey and debunked earlier reports which suggested Atsu had been found after going missing for several hours.
Atsu, who plays for Hatay-based Turkish outfit Hatayspor, is reported to have sustained injuries and suffered breathing difficulties but is currently stabilised at a hospital.
On Monday, February 6, Atsu was nowhere to be found as the club frantically tried to find players and staff in the affected buildings.
Atsu and club sporting director Taner Savut were caught in the rubble in the wake of the earthquake that impacted the south of Turkey and north of Syria.
It is refreshing news back home, as many Ghanaians offered prayers for Atsu and the victims of Turkey and Syria when reports went viral on the disaster.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo expressed his condolence to Turkey and prayed for the safety of Atsu in a Facebook post on Monday.
Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia also prayed for the victims.
