Doomsday prophecies dominate 31st Night despite police warning

Source The Ghana Report

As the clock struck midnight on December 31, 2024, Ghanaian prophets took to their pulpits to share their divine revelations for the new year.

The tradition, known as 31st Night Prophecies, is a highly anticipated event in Ghana, where prophets claim to receive visions and messages from God.

Prior to New Year’s Eve, the Ghana Police Service issued a caution to faith-based organisations and individuals to refrain from sharing misinformation or prophecies that could incite fear, panic, or endanger lives.

However, the tradition of prophecies continued to dominate the services that ushered most Christians into 2025.

Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah

Reverend Isaac Owusu Bempah, founder of the Glorious Word Power Ministries International, prophesied that Ghana would experience a significant economic turnaround in 2025.

He claimed that God had revealed to him that the country would witness a surge in investments, leading to job creation and economic growth.

Known for his dramatic declarations, Rev. Bempah’s 31st Night prophecies typically draw attention, especially as they pertain to national politics, governance, and the well-being of the nation.

This year, his messages forecast significant events for Ghana and the world, some of which have sparked conversations that will likely reverberate through 2025.

Here are some of the key prophecies that stood out during his 31st December service:

1. National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members should fast and pray for John Dramani Mahama’s January 7, 2025, inauguration.

According to him, the NDC must seek divine intervention for a peaceful transition and to ensure the stability of Mahama’s upcoming leadership.

2. Former president of Ghana to die

Rev. Bempah revealed that a former president of Ghana would pass away in the near future. Though the identity of the former leader remains unconfirmed, this ominous prediction has caused significant speculation.

3. Death of a popular man of God

Another alarming prophecy was Bempah’s prediction regarding the death of a well-known religious figure.

While he did not specify, his words indicate the potential loss of a prominent Christian leader, which may send shockwaves through the spiritual community in Ghana.

4. Plane clashes in the US

Rev. Bempah also spoke about a concerning vision related to the United States, predicting crashes or accidents involving aeroplanes.

The nature of these crashes was not entirely clear, but his prophecy implies that the US could face significant transportation or aviation challenges in the year ahead.

5. Prominent deaths in Ghana

The prophet warned of several high-profile deaths within the country, which would send ripples throughout the nation.

6. Deadly diseases to hit Ghana

Rev. Owusu Bempah highlighted the likelihood of deadly diseases making their way to Ghana, urging the public to remain vigilant and take the necessary precautions.

7. A mighty tree in the Ashanti Region will fall

In another significant prophecy, Bempah foretold the fall of a prominent individual in the Ashanti Region—referred to metaphorically as a “mighty tree.”

8. A prominent chief in Asante Juaben may die

Building on his earlier prophecy, Bempah specifically mentioned the Asante Juaben area, where a prominent chief is likely to pass away.

9. Ghana likely to record the death of outgoing and incoming ministers

Another chilling prophecy involved the passing of both outgoing and incoming ministers in Ghana. With political transitions in mind, Bempah’s prediction suggests that the next year will see the loss of some key political figures, which could affect both the outgoing administration as well as those who will assume leadership in the coming years.

10. Constitutional amendments despite difficulties

Rev. Bempah also prophesied that Ghana would undergo constitutional amendments in 2025, though these changes would face resistance and difficulty.

11. Ghana needs prayer for outgoing and incoming Vice Presidents

Rev. Bempah emphasised the importance of prayer for the vice presidents—both the outgoing and incoming—during the upcoming political transition.

12. Do not put intense pressure on President John Mahama after the inauguration.

Finally, the prophet’s words regarding John Dramani Mahama’s presidency were both encouraging and cautionary. While he acknowledged that Mahama has a good heart, he urged Ghanaians to desist from undue pressure on the president following his inauguration. Bempah noted that Ghana’s recovery under Mahama’s leadership would be gradual, and the nation must allow him the time and space to work through the challenges he will inherit.

Prophet Nigel Gaisie

Rev. Bempah had others in his company, with the founder of Prophetic Hill Chapel, Nigel Gaisie, releasing his own set of prophecies to unfold in 2025.

Speaking to his congregants during the December 31, 2024, Watch Night service, Gaisie shared that these prophecies were revealed to him by God and have global implications.

Spanning across politics, security, and traditional institutions, here are the 2025 prophecies highlighted by Nigel Gaisie:

1. 2025 will be a good and prosperous year

“This year is going to be very good and productive. It is going to be a prosperous year,” he said.

2. A religion different from Christianity will dominate Europe

“I saw a religion, which is not Christianity, dominating Europe. The Lord told me to tell Christian leaders that we must do more. If Christian leaders around the world, including myself and any other men or women of God, do not act, we will witness the rise of another religion in Europe. I saw France and other parts of Europe being overtaken by this new religion, much like what has happened in Turkey. We need to pray and do more evangelism; otherwise, the influence of Christianity in Europe could diminish to zero.”

6. Black Stars to qualify for the 2026 World Cup

Gaisie confidently prophesied that the Black Stars would qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

7. Threats to Ghana’s security on January 7th, 8th, and 9th
He warned of potential threats to Ghana’s security on January 7th, 8th, and 9th, urging vigilance to prevent calamity.

8. Ghanaians should be watchful and pray before and after the inauguration ceremony in January 2025

“The Lord said we should be watchful on these dates: January 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th. We must pray and remain vigilant. I have seen many things, but I am being cautious. However, I repeat and put this on record: If Ghana goes to sleep on these days, something untoward may happen. After January 7, when the president-elect is sworn into office, people should continue to pray, stay alert, and remain watchful. May Ghana not fall asleep, and may happiness not cause people to lose their vigilance,” he prophesied.

9. A vice president from a West African country will pass away

Gaisie predicted the death of a vice president from a West African country.

10. Attacks on two traditional leaders, including beheading

He warned about bloody attacks on two traditional leaders, including the potential destoolment and decapitation.

11. A significant loss involving a prominent female figure from the Central Region

Gaisie foresaw a significant loss involving a prominent female figure from Ghana‘s Central Region, comparing the situation to the
tragic death of former Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur and predicted a state burial.

12. Prayers needed for American Media Personality Oprah Winfrey

He called for prayers for American media mogul Oprah Winfrey, suggesting that she may face health challenges.

Prophet Nigel Gaisie also warned of impending disasters, including floods and fires, which he claimed would affect various parts of the country. He urged Ghanaians to pray and seek divine protection.

Other prophets, including Reverend Sam Korankye Ankrah of the Royalhouse Chapel International, shared prophecies on political stability and spiritual awakening.

Pastor Elvis Agyemang, the founder of Grace Mountain Ministry, also spoke about a pandemic, explaining that it will be worse than COVID-19 and highly contagious.

He advised the church to be vigilant and stand strong in the place of prayer.

While some Ghanaians have taken the 31st Night Prophecies seriously, others have expressed scepticism, questioning the accuracy and motivations behind the prophecies.

Nonetheless, the event remains a significant part of Ghana’s spiritual landscape, with many believers seeking guidance and inspiration for the new year.
