A potential disruption to the funeral of highlife legend Daddy Lumba has been resolved after the Accra High Court lifted an injunction on the arrangements, allowing the ceremony to go ahead tomorrow, December 13, 2025.

In today’s ruling, the court noted that affidavits indicated the immediate family may have been excluded from the funeral planning.

The judge stressed that the case’s merits needed to be carefully examined.

The court also recalled lawyers for both sides and ordered the applicants to appear by 2:00 pm today and pay GH¢2 million to cover costs already incurred for the funeral preparations.

The applicants failed to meet the deadline, and their plea was struck out, removing the legal barrier and allowing funeral activities to continue as planned.

Thomas Kwadwo Osei, counsel for the family head, described the decision as a “huge relief,” saying the family can now complete final preparations.

The earlier injunction had briefly halted planned events, causing concern among relatives and fans who were already in Kumasi, ready for the ceremony.

With the applicants’ request dismissed, tomorrow’s funeral arrangements will proceed as scheduled.
