Coalition of unemployed teachers hit the streets over delayed postings
The Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers from the Colleges of Education on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, hit the streets to demand immediate job placements following what they characterise as numerous unaddressed appeals to the government.
The group, consisting of the 2022 and 2023 cohorts of trained teachers, expressed their discontent over being left in uncertainty despite having passed the teacher licensure examination and completed their national service.
Mintah Robert, an unemployed trained teacher, shared his dismay, stating that the situation has led many of them into financial hardship.
“I’ve just returned from a construction site where I’m working as a labourer. I went to training college because I wanted a stable job, not to struggle at home after completing my course. We want the government to post us as soon as possible.

“Some of our colleagues have been pushed into robbery, illegal mining and other unfortunate activities just to survive. We’re pleading with the government to help us,” he said.
Tensions escalated at the Ministry of Education when the Coalition declined an offer from the Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service to accept their petition.
They insisted on delivering it directly to the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu.
