Black Queens begin preparations for Japan friendly as 25 players train in Accra

The Black Queens of Ghana have commenced preparations for their upcoming friendly match against Japan.

The Queens on Wednesday held a first training session in Accra after opening camp in the capital on Tuesday.

On the first day of training at Union Park, Legon, 25 of the 33 players who have reported to camp took part in the session.

The 25 players who trained on Wednesday include, Freda Ayisi, Azumah Bugre, Cynthia Konlan, Anasthesia Achiaa, Mukarama Abdulai, Comfort Yeboah, Mary Amponsah, Princella Adubea, Doris Boaduwaa, Evelyn Badu and Philomena Abakah.

The rest are Safiatu Salifu, Victoria Antwi Adjei, Gifty Assifuah, Susan Duah, Vivian Adjei Konadu,Stella Nyamekye, Portia Boakye, Kerrie McCarthy, Nina Norshie, Bridget Adu,Adama Alhassan, Mavis Owusu, Jaqueline Owusu and Alice Kusi.

Coach Nora Hauptle is expecting eight more players to join the squad to strengthen the team for the task ahead.

Ghana’s Black Queens will play the international friendly against Japan on Saturday, July 13.
