Baton Change Problem will be addressed before 2024 Olympics- Nunoo Mensah
“GOC President Ben Nunoo Mensah is optimistic that Ghana’s Men’s 4×100 Relay Team will refine their baton change technique ahead of the 2024 Olympics.
His confidence comes after the team secured a spot in the Paris Games by winning Heat 2 at the World Relays Championship in the Bahamas.
Despite a flawless baton change on Day Two, Ghana had previously missed out on an earlier Olympic qualification due to a delayed baton change at the Penn Relays.
The team had also dropped the baton on Day One of the World Relays, echoing a similar issue at the African Games.
However, Nunoo Mensah believes the team will learn from these mistakes and improve their baton change to achieve success in Paris.”
“I am sure that their coaches have seen that weakness in our team and I’m sure they will be working on that. It’s always been a problem not only for this current team but for a while. There must be something and I’m sure that their coaches are up to the task and they should be working on that before we show up at the Olympics,” he said.
The 2024 Olympics starts on July 26 and ends on August 11.
