Two executives from the Ablekuma North Constituency, Jones De-Graft, who serves as the Constituency Research Officer, and Abubakar Briamah, the Constituency Organiser, have been apprehended by the Ghana Police Service at the Odorkor Saleria Basic 1 & 2 polling center.
The arrests occurred following a confrontation involving the former Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Nana Akua Afriyie, at the polling location.
As per delegates who requested anonymity, the former MP had previously informed her team members to be prepared and to approach the polling center as the closing time for voting approached.
Reportedly, police officers present at the scene intervened to avert any potential security violations, instructing all delegates within the inner perimeter to vacate the area.
One delegate is said to have defied this order, resulting in his arrest.
Nana Akua Afriyie reportedly strongly protested the arrest before the individual was ultimately placed into a police patrol vehicle.
