Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay has accused the music industry of failing to adequately support female artistes, saying, “This music industry does not favour women AT ALL!!!
The “Bedroom Commando” hitmaker made the remarks in a post on X, where she expressed frustration over what she described as the treatment of women in the industry.
Wendy Shay suggested that her long-held concerns had recently been reinforced by information she received, which she said had made the situation appear more serious than she had previously thought.
“I always knew this, but after hearing what I just heard, it’sSERIOUS!!!,”” she wrote.

The musician, however, did not disclose what she had heard or identify the specific circumstances behind the comments.
Her posts have since generated reactions on social media, with some users seeking clarification on what prompted her latest remarks and what she believes is driving the unequal treatment of female artistes.
Wendy Shay’s comments come amid ongoing conversations about the challenges female musicians face in an industry where issues including opportunities, support, and recognition continue to attract debate.
