Barcelona can win Champions League — Lewandowski

Barcelona former striker Robert Lewandowski believes the Spanish club has a strong chance of winning the UEFA Champions League this season.

According to Lewandowski, Barcelona is in a better position than they were a few years ago because many of their young players now have more experience.

The Polish striker said the club has added quality players to its squad, while several young players who were still developing two or three years ago have now become more experienced.

“This stage might be different for Barcelona compared to last season because they have many high-quality players, in addition to the new signings,” Lewandowski said.

He also believes Barcelona’s young players can play an important role in the club’s Champions League campaign.

Lewandowski pointed out that several Barcelona players have also gained valuable experience by winning the World Cup with Spain.

He said having eight world champions in the squad is something special for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

“I think the Champions League is a dream for Barcelona, but now they have players who were very young two or three years ago, and they now have experience,” he said.

Barcelona have been among Europe’s top clubs for many years and have won the Champions League five times. However, their most recent triumph came in 2015.

The Catalan club have also struggled to reach the later stages of the competition in recent seasons.

Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona in 2022 after a successful spell at Bayern Munich, now plays for Major League Soccer(MLS) side Chicago Fire, where he signed a two-year contract in June 2026.
