Ghana’s Black Princesses will step up their preparations for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with an international friendly against Polish side Sleza Wroclaw on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
The match will be played behind closed doors at the Stadion Sportowy Olawka in Wroclaw, with kick-off scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Ghana time. Sleza Wroclaw compete in Poland’s top division, the Orlen Ekstraliga Kobiet.
The friendly will give Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson another opportunity to assess his players and make final adjustments to his squad ahead of the global tournament.
Ghana have been in Poland since August 16 as part of their preparations. The team has been training in camp, with the technical staff using the period to improve the players’ fitness, teamwork and tactical understanding.
Coach Sampson has previously said the international friendly matches in Poland will be important because they will allow his players to experience competitive football against international opposition before the World Cup begins.
The 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be hosted by Poland from September 5 to 27. Ghana has been drawn in Group C alongside Ecuador, Korea Republic and France.
The Black Princesses will begin their campaign against Ecuador on September 6 at the Arena Sosnowiec. They will then face Korea Republic on September 9 before meeting France in their final group game on September 12.
All three matches are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Ghana time.
Ghana is making their eighth consecutive appearance at the U-20 Women’s World Cup. Despite their consistent qualification, the team has never progressed beyond the group stage.
Sampson and his players are therefore hoping to make history in Poland by reaching the knockout stage for the first time.
