Former OnlyFans model and social media personality Courtney Clenney has been sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter over the death of her Nigerian boyfriend, Christian Obumseli.
Clenney was initially charged with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon in connection with Obumseli’s death in Miami in April 2022.
Under the plea agreement, she received a six-year prison sentence, with four years already counted as time served, followed by five years of probation.
Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle said the agreement was reached in consultation with Obumseli’s family and that Clenney had accepted responsibility for his death.
Obumseli, 27, died after he was stabbed in the chest at the couple’s Miami apartment on April 3, 2022.
Clenney was arrested in Hawaii in August 2022, months after the incident, following a warrant issued by Miami-Dade prosecutors.
Her defence had maintained that she acted in self-defence and alleged that Obumseli had been abusive.
Prosecutors, however, described their relationship as highly volatile, citing repeated arguments between the couple since late 2020.
Obumseli’s family said the plea brought the legal proceedings to an end but had not eased their grief over his death.
