The National Service Authority (NSA) has officially released PIN codes for 121,754 prospective National Service Personnel for the 2026/2027 national service year.
The PIN codes were released on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, for eligible graduates from accredited tertiary institutions across the country, officially opening registration for the new national service year.
In a statement signed by NSA Director-General, Ruth Dela Seddoh, the Authority said tertiary institutions submitted 144,023 records for mobilisation.
Of these, 122,712 records were approved, representing 121,754 unique persons, while 21,311 submissions were withheld for further identity verification. Another 958 approved records were not promoted because the relevant records have not yet been created and still require verification.
The NSA said it conducted thorough validation and verification in collaboration with relevant regulatory institutions to ensure that only eligible graduates from accredited tertiary institutions were mobilised.
According to the Authority, the measures were also aimed at removing duplicate, inflated and irregular submissions while protecting the integrity of the national service enrolment process.
The Authority has urged tertiary institutions with unresolved accreditation status to engage the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to regularise their accreditation.
It said eligible graduates from those institutions would continue to be processed once GTEC confirms their accreditation status.
Online registration began on Wednesday, August 12, and will close on August 26, 2026.
The NSA has urged all eligible prospective National Service Personnel to complete their registration within the stipulated period to prevent delays in deployment.
Applicants are required to access and activate their PIN codes through the NSA’s registration portal before completing the enrolment process. A registration fee must be paid via Mobile Money across all networks to activate the PIN codes and gain access to the enrolment platform.
As part of efforts to strengthen the integrity and security of the registration process, applicants will also be required to undergo facial biometric verification against their Ghana Card records with the National Identification Authority (NIA) before they can access the online registration platform.
Applicants must provide a valid GhanaPost GPS address to support accurate deployment and proximity-based postings.
The NSA said real-time verification mechanisms have also been incorporated into the platform to improve data accuracy and prevent fraudulent enrolments.
The Authority further announced that selected prospective National Service Personnel will have the opportunity to participate in the next phase of the pre-deployment military orientation programme, in line with President John Dramani Mahama’s policy of integrating Basic Military Training into the National Service Programme.
Applicants who are interested in the programme can indicate their willingness to participate during the online registration process. The NSA said participation will not affect their subsequent deployment to assigned user agencies.
Prospective National Service Personnel will also have the opportunity to participate in the NSA Agriculture Deployment Programme, which is designed to promote youth participation in agriculture while supporting the government’s food security and agribusiness development agenda.
Successful applicants will be deployed to designated agricultural project sites for the duration of their mandatory national service.
The NSA reminded the public that under Section 29(1) of the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), a person qualifies to undertake national service if they are a Ghanaian citizen who has completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution.
