Police at Manhyia have arrested two persons at the Asawase Market in Kumasi for allegedly possessing substances believed to be narcotic drugs.
The individuals, named Osman Bassein, 37, and Mohammed Abdul-Razak, 38, were taken into custody on July 21, 2026, during an operation guided by intelligence after police received a tip-off regarding the transportation of narcotics in fertilizer sacks.
“Inspection of the sacks revealed second-hand clothing concealing one hundred compressed parcels of dried leaves suspected to be narcotic drugs,” the police stated.
The suspects are presently in custody, assisting with investigations, while the evidence has been secured for forensic analysis.
