Chelsea Women continued their dominance in English women’s football after winning the FA Women’s League Cup over the weekend. The Blues defeated Manchester United Women 2–0 in the final played at Ashton Gate Stadium, securing their fourth title in the competition.
The victory was sealed by goals from Lauren James and Aggie Beever-Jones. James opened the scoring in the 19th minute after capitalising on a defensive error, while Beever-Jones added the second goal late in the match to confirm Chelsea’s triumph.

Chelsea’s path to the final showed their strength in knockout football. Because of their participation in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the club entered the competition at the quarter-final stage. In the quarter-final, they defeated Durham W.F.C. 5–0 in a dominant display.

They then progressed to the final after beating West Ham United Women 2–0 in the semi-final. The victory over Manchester United in the final completed their campaign in the tournament.
Chelsea’s success in the League Cup also reflects their strong record in recent years. The club won the competition in 2025 after beating Manchester City Women 2–1 in the final, while they finished as runners-up in 2024 after losing 1–0 to Arsenal Women.

With this latest triumph, Chelsea retained the League Cup title and reinforced their reputation as one of the dominant forces in women’s football in England. The back-to-back success also marks an important milestone for the club as they continue their pursuit of more domestic and European trophies this season
