Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has stated that Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars could play a fourth friendly game before competing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. (Scroll down to watch video)
Ghana has qualified to compete in the World Cup and has been drawn in Group L with England, Croatia and Panama and ahead of the competition, the Black Stars have three confirmed friendlies against Austria, Germany and Mexico.
In a briefing about the Black Stars preparations, Kofi Adams, stated that to ensure the Black Stars head to the tournament in the best shape, negotiations are ongoing to have the team play against Wales.
“We have planned to have four of such [friendly] matches…on the 27th [of March) we will be playing Austria and on the 30th (of March) we will play Germany.”

“We are in negotiations with Wales to also play against their national team and then we will have another one against Mexico” Kofi Adams said.

Wales will compete in the playoffs for the chance to qualify to the upcoming World Cup with the team set to play Bosnia and Herzegovina on March 6 and potentially on March 31 against Italy or Northern Ireland.
