Asante Kotoko has announced an investigation into alleged attempted bribery involving some of its players ahead of the club’s final Ghana Premier League (GPL) match of the 2025/2026 season.
In a statement issued on May 26, 2026, the club confirmed that its Board and Management held a meeting with the players and technical team on Sunday, May 25, to discuss the team’s disappointing performance during the season and address the bribery allegations.
According to the statement, management has already begun a thorough investigation into the matter and is determined to establish the full facts surrounding the allegations.
The club praised player Patrick Asiedu for reporting the issue to management, describing his actions as professional and in line with the values of the club.
“Asante Kotoko treats issues of this nature with the utmost seriousness,” the statement said, adding that any individual found guilty after investigations would face appropriate disciplinary action.
