Versatile Ghanaian singer and ‘Lonely’ hitmaker, Jah Lead, has revealed that highlife legend Amakye Dede remains his ultimate dream collaborator.
The artiste made this known during an appearance on the Afternoon Show on Tuesday, February 24, where he was asked about potential collaborations he hopes to pursue in the future.
Jah Lead indicated that working with Amakye Dede remains a major personal and professional goal.
Jah Lead explained that his ambition to work with Amakye Dede stems from a desire to merge his contemporary sound with the classic highlife music he grew up listening to.
“I’m looking forward to working with Amakye Dede. I just want to add my new vibe to what I used to listen to when I was growing up, so yeah, Amakye Dede is a big target for me,” he revealed.
The revered vocalist regards Amakye Dede as his all-time favourite Ghanaian artiste and believes such a collaboration would represent a meaningful fusion of generations.
Jah Lead also reflected on his earlier hopes of collaborating with the late highlife icon Daddy Lumba, noting that it was an opportunity he had long looked forward to but which never materialised.
Known for his emotive vocals and versatility, Jah Lead continues to establish himself in Ghana’s music industry while drawing inspiration from the pioneers who laid the foundation for the country’s rich musical heritage.
Currently, Jah Lead is promoting his latest 5-track EP, Guilt of Music 101, further cementing his position as one of Ghana’s most dynamic contemporary artistes.
