In a night full of exciting performances and memorable moments, the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) reached a high point on Saturday, May 9, when Medikal won the Best Hiplife Song of the Year award with his hit song Shoulder.

The song, which features Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM, became a fan favourite and one of the biggest hiplife songs of the year.

The Best Hiplife Song category was highly competitive, with several popular songs and top Ghanaian artists nominated. Shoulder beat songs like Tontonte by Ko-Jo Cue featuring AratheJay and Ofori Amponsah, Next Door by Kojo Blak featuring Sarkodie, Messiah by Sarkodie featuring Kweku Flick, and Badness by Kwesi Amewuga

When the winners were announced at the Grand Arena, the crowd cheered loudly as fans celebrated Medikal’s big win and the continued growth of hiplife music in Ghana.
