Afrobeats artist, Twicy wins two awards at 2024 Central Music Awards
Afrobeats singer and songwriter Twicy has won two awards at the 2024 Central Music Awards, topping off an impressive year.
The “Live it Up” singer was named Artist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year at the ceremony which was held in Cape Coast, recently.
Twicy was nominated in an impressive eight categories of Artiste of the Year, EP/Album of the Year, AfroPop Song of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Best Music Video of the Year with Lotto and Live It Up songs off his maiden Far Away album.
The win caps an impressive year which saw the artiste take over the airwaves in Nigeria, Ghana and the UK with two popular songs, “Lotto” and “Live it Up.”
Since kicking off his career, Twicy has displayed impressive versatility that reflects his ability to carve a niche for himself in an industry that requires artistes to adjust according to the times.
Last year, Twicy released the single ‘Live It Up’ which brought him attention, performing it at Glitch Africa Studios earlier this year.
In an earlier interview with Graphic Showbiz, the singer disclosed that he plans to become a notable voice in African music and getting seven nominations is a stepping stone towards achieving his dream.
“My earliest interaction with music was through listening to my parents’ music collection at home. I would often sit or lie down and listen to the cassette tapes of Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Ofori Amponsah, Fela Kuti, etc.
