He emphasised the need for the election to be free, fair, and transparent, reflecting the democratic values Ghana is known for.
Before going to the Bole Bamboi to cast his ballot, the former president stopped by his family home and said prayers at his father’s grave.
He was surrounded by family and many well-wishers who had gathered in anticipation of his arrival.
“This is part of our culture and tradition, and many of these are my uncles. They believe that at every opportunity, if you are faced with a crisis or you are anxious about something, you must pray to your father and your ancestors. These are prayers being said for my father.
“This is my father’s grave. And so the same prayers for him, and asking him to stand behind me in the contest that we are going into today.”
