Nigerian woman faints while attempting to break Guiness World Record for longest massage
A young Nigerian masseuse, Joyce Ijeoma collapsed after hours of standing in her attempt to break the Guinness World Record(GWR) for the longest body massage on individuals.
Ijeoma declared her interest to embark on a 72-hour massage-a-thon in the Lekki area of Lagos State on Sunday, July 2. She could, however, complete only 50 hours as she fainted from exhaustion while massaging one of her clients.
She was set to break the previous record set in 2015 by Alastair Galpin in South Kalimantan, Indonesia which stands at 25 hours and 4 minutes.
In a viral video trending on the internet, Ijeoma could be seen falling to her knees while her assistant attempted to prop her up.

She was later joined by another woman on the set to assist the passed-out Ijeoma.
This attempt comes after Nigerian Chef, Hilda Baci gained national and international support when she embarked on a journey to break the Guinness World Records’ longest cooking marathon.
Following Hilda Baci’s cook-a-Thon, there has been a craze recently as some people have attempted to enter Guinness World Records in various activities.
The most recent one is another Nigerian Chef, Damilola, popularly known as Chef Dami who attempted to break the record for the longest cooking marathon before GWR officially recognized Hilda’s feat.
Oyinlola, a Nigerian digital artist, also announced in June that she will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest painting marathon.
