Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah, says the country spent a little over 4.5 million dollars following Ghana’s participation in the just ended Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The Minister in a presentation to parliament on Wednesday said Ghana spent $4,564,352 million out of a budgeted $6.3 million despite the early exit of the team in the tournament.
He further said the amount spent covers payments made for winning bonuses to the Players and the technical staff, acquisition of travel visas, feeding of contingent, external travels and per diems.
The Minister added the Normalization Committee has been tasked to produce a comprehensive report on the poor performance of the Senior National team in the just ended tournament.
He suggested that many reforms will be made after the report is officially presented.
