A tipper truck with registration number GN-1263-10 has crushed a 12-year-old girl on the Suhum highway in the Eastern Region.
The deceased identified as Amanda Takyi, at about 4:30 am today, Monday 12th June was on her way to dump refuse at a dumpsite across the Suhum highway after she had finished her house chores and was preparing to go to school.
The tipper truck which was loaded with ginger was journeying from Ahafo Goaso to Accra.
According to the driver of the truck, after descending the overpass on the Suhum Highway, he heard a bump and halted the truck, got off, and went to see what the problem was but to his shock was the mutilated body of Amanda.
Information gathered revealed that the mother of the deceased upon hearing the news went unconscious and had to be rushed to the Suhum Government Hospital for medical attention.
Close sources revealed that the deceased was staying with her father elsewhere until her mother went to bring her to Suhum a few months ago.
The Suhum District Police have conveyed and deposited the body at the Suhum Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and further investigation.
