YouTuber remanded for inciting police assassinations, burning of Akufo-Addo’s house
A 24-year-old amateur YouTuber has been remanded by an Accra Circuit Court over a video provoking revolt, cop killing and burning of President Akufo-Addo’s home.
Bless Kodjoe Amedegbe, recorded a video of himself and circulated it.
In the video, he recorded during the three-week partial lockdown, he said the coronavirus was a hoax and a smokescreen for the installation of 5G infrastructure that would kill Ghanaians.
He also called on the public to defy social distancing directives issued by the President.
He attributed the plan to President Akufo-Addo, stating that the country’s leader has the intention to kill many Ghanaians.
Kill police officers, burn Akufo-Addo’s house – Social media alarmist
“Don’t you see that they are digging holes? What holes do you think they are? You think they are pipelines, but they (officials) are telling us lies. It is a 5G network, and that is what is killing people. Corona is not killing anyone,” he boldly stated.
He charged Ghanaians to revolt against national authority and retaliate if attacked by any police officer.
“Ghanaians should think. Arm yourselves and storm the streets. If a police attack you, beat him up because Nana Akufo-Addo knows what he wants to do. He wants to kill people. All our children would die, 5G is what killed people in China, America and Nigeria,” he claimed.
He added, “Corona is not killing Ghanaians, and it will not kill any Ghanaian. Why? Because you are always drinking ‘sobolo’. Buy Sobolo,” he advised, as he stated in the Twi local language, “you consume so much ginger and garlic so how can you contract coronavirus?”
Bless was tracked down by national security operatives, arrested on Tuesday, May 5 and charged with criminal offences.
He was arraigned at an Accra Circuit Court and remanded by the court presided over by M.E. Essandoh to reappear on May 22.
Bless later explained that he “just wanted my (YouTube) channel to grow” as he didn’t have many subscribers.“I don’t have subscribers, and the highest I had was four.”
He said he regrets his actions, describing it as “silly.”
He used the opportunity to advise others not to follow his path.
