Your seat is next – Gbande tells Annoh-Dompreh

Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has declared the party’s intention to reclaim the Nsawam-Adoagyiri parliamentary seat, currently held by Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh, which he says was unfairly won by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking on UTV on Friday, December 12, Gbande tied his comments to developments surrounding the Kpandai parliamentary rerun, insisting that the NDC remains determined to recover all constituencies it believes were “stolen” through irregularities and unfair practices.

He emphasised that the party will continue to challenge election outcomes in constituencies it considers compromised, naming Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Suhum, and Tolon as priority seats.

“The Minority is confused. They bring placards to the chamber protesting Kpandai, and when you ask them to explain their concerns all they say is President Mahama’s third term.

We will pursue all the seats they stole from us. After Kpandai, we will follow up on Annoh-Dompreh’s constituency and then Suhum and Tolon,” he stated.

Attention has recently focused on the Kpandai parliamentary seat following a High Court ruling that annulled the 2024 election results after an NDC petition cited electoral irregularities.

The court subsequently ordered a rerun, and in compliance with the ruling, Parliament declared the seat vacant.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled the rerun for Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

The Minority Caucus, however, has rejected both the court’s ruling and Parliament’s action, describing the rerun as unconstitutional and a threat to Ghana’s democratic order.
