Young mother in custody after son found dead in well at Karlo

A 23-year-old woman is in police custody after allegedly causing the death of her 4-year-old son by throwing him into a well in Karlo, a quiet community in the Suaman District of the Western North Region.

The tragic event unfolded when residents discovered the lifeless body of the young boy inside a well.

Soon after the incident was reported to the police, a young woman arrived at the station to say that her son had fallen into a well. Authorities quickly connected her to the case.

Upon further investigation and questioning, it emerged that she was the child’s mother.

Though she initially claimed the boy had fallen by accident, witness accounts and police findings raised suspicions, and she was arrested on the spot.

Authorities now believe she may have intentionally thrown the child into the well.

“She appeared calm at first, but something didn’t feel right. The truth started to unfold as we spoke with others in the area,” said one source close to the investigation.

The mother is being held at the Dadieso Police Station while further investigations are underway.

Meanwhile, the body of the child has since been sent to the Enchi Government Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The police have not yet released an official statement, but the case continues to draw attention and sorrow in the community.
