Young man found dead at Krofrom
The lifeless body of a young man has been discovered at Krofrom, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The body was discovered in the early hours of Saturday, February 17.
Residents are uncertain about the details surrounding the occurrence, but some have suggested that the deceased might have been a thief who was lynched and then dumped in their area, given that his identity is yet to be established.
According to a resident, Evans Kissi, the police have taken custody of the body and initiated investigations after their attention was drawn to the unfortunate incident.
Similar of such cases have been rampant between January and February this year.
The deceased, believed to be in his mid-40s, was found in a bush.
Assembly Member for Atwima Takyiman-Denkyemuoso Electoral Area, David Asare, said an examination by a pathologist at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Dr Sampane, revealed that the deceased was allegedly attacked with sharp weapons.
The body was reportedly found around 2:05 p.m. in a rotten state, so it was impossible to identify the deceased person.
What led to the unfortunate demise of the deceased was not readily known, but the state in which the body was found suggested foul play.
The deceased was identified as Ama, a mentally ill person who had been a threat to the residents of Edumadze, a community within Mankessim.
Information gathered indicates that the deceased is also a mother of three.
