In a heart-stopping play-off match at the Accra Sports Stadium, Young Apostles secured promotion to the Ghana Premier League by defeating Techiman Heroes in a penalty shootout thriller.

The match ended 1-1 after regular and extra time, leading to a nail-biting penalty shootout.

Suleman Yahaya Abu emerged as the hero, scoring the decisive penalty that gave Young Apostles a 4-3 shootout victory.

Techiman Heroes initially took the lead in the shootout, but missed penalties by Emmanuel Owusu and Ebenezer Agyapong turned the tide in favor of Young Apostles.

Young Apostles will join the Ghana Premier League for the 2024/25 season, becoming the fifth team from the Bono Ahafo region to reach the top tier.

Despite their loss, Techiman Heroes had several chances during the match but failed to capitalize on them.

Vision FC from Zone 3 has also secured promotion, while the representative from Zone 2 is yet to be determined.
