“You should make time to direct rush hour traffic” – Franklin Cudjoe slams IGP over elevator commissioning
Founding President and Chief Executive Officer of IMANI Centre for Policy and Education, Franklin Cudjoe has asked the Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh to get his priorities right.
Reacting to media reports of the IGP commissioning an elevator at the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters, Mr. Cudjoe said, the IGP must as well make time to direct rush hour traffic.
“Seems to me the IGP has no serious work plan. I think he should make time to direct rush hour traffic! What is this? 😎🤣😎🤣😎🤣😋” he wrote.
Mr. Cudjoe’s ‘frustration’ stems from what some describe as the mediocrity associated with the ‘commissioning’ of a ‘mere’ elevator.
MISSING TAKORADI GIRLS
Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, 15, Ruth Love Quayson, 18, and Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21 have been missing for more than a year.
Several developments have arisen since their disappearance including a widely circulated campaign by the family and members of the public to demand action from the police.
In a recent development, the police exhumed remains that are suspected to be those of the girls.
The remains have been sent to the forensic science laboratory of the Ghana Police service for further investigations and analysis.
Not much has been heard about the matter since
Mr. Cudjoe in his usual social media rant, wrote “Instead of going to help identify unclaimed dead bodies and looking for the missing living, you are here commissioning elevators and the media made time to attend this funny event! Seems to me the IGP has no serious work plan. I think he should make time to direct rush hour traffic! What is this? 😎🤣😎🤣😎🤣😋”
BACKGROUND
The CID Headquarters building, which has been in use since the 1990s has been without an elevator for almost three decades.
Under the leadership of COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo – Danquah, the service has, in collaboration with the National Lottery Authority, managed to fix the said elevators for the six-storey facility.
The elevator was commissioned by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Oppong-Boanuh during a short ceremony.
Construction of the CID Headquarters building started in 1979 and was completed in the early 1990’s.
