“You Know You Lied!” – Omane Boamah Condemns Fordjour Over Drug Allegations
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, the Minister for Defence, has strongly criticised Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, accusing him of spreading false claims about an aircraft allegedly carrying cocaine that landed at Kotoka International Airport.
In a Facebook post on April 4, 2025, Dr. Omane Boamah dismissed Ntim Fordjour’s accusations as “reckless” and based on political animosity toward President Mahama’s administration.
The minister questioned how a reverend minister of God could engage in such a “smear campaign” for political gain.
Earlier, Rev. Ntim Fordjour, the ranking member of the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament, had demanded a public briefing regarding two aircraft—AirMed Flight N823AM and Cavok Air Antonov An-12B—which he alleged were involved in trafficking cocaine and cash into the country. His claims prompted President Mahama to order an investigation.
However, Government Communications Minister Felix Kwaky Ofosu revealed that Fordjour had been invited to assist with the investigation but failed to cooperate. Ofosu accused him of fabricating the allegations for political purposes.
Despite this, Ntim Fordjour maintained his stance, asserting that the government must answer for the claims he raised.
He insisted that the information he provided should not be questioned, urging the authorities to respond.
In his post, Dr. Omane Boamah criticised Fordjour for his actions, accusing him of harbouring “hatred” for President Mahama’s administration and seeking favour with the more radical elements of his party.
He urged the reverend minister to “repent” and stop making false accusations, pointing to video evidence that disproved Fordjour’s allegations.
“Repent, Ntim Fordjour! You know you’ve lied!” Omane Boamah wrote, calling for an end to the reckless spread of falsehoods.
