You have crucial roles to play towards election 2024 victory – Dr. Bawumia to NPP Diaspora branches
The Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged members of the NPP Diaspora branches to unite and support the NPP for success in both the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, regardless of their initial support during the Presidential and various parliamentary primaries.
Speaking at the NPP International Conference in Johannesburg on Saturday, March 23, 2024, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of the Diaspora branches within the party and their significant roles in achieving victory this year.
“The NPP Diaspora branches have played a crucial role in the party’s successes. For the 2024 elections, you have major roles to play,” Dr. Bawumia stated.
He also highlighted the special structure set up within his campaign team specifically for Diaspora affairs, acknowledging the contributions and talents of NPP members in the diaspora.
“Dear Patriots, many of you in the diaspora have inquired about your role in the campaign. The National campaign team includes the Diaspora Coordination Team comprised of Dr. Akwasi Acheampong, Amponsah Stonash, Obaa Yaa Frimpong, Richard Gyamfi, Emmanuel Attafuah, and Kingsley Agyemang,” the NPP Flagbearer explained.
“The purpose of this team is to leverage the exceptional talents within the diaspora, coordinate plans and ideas, and integrate them into the broader national campaign strategy and execution. I have full confidence that the team we have assembled will work tirelessly to ensure all diaspora members feel included in the campaign.”
Dr. Bawumia assured them of his openness to embrace all party members and stressed the importance of unity to break the eight-year cycle and secure a majority in Parliament.
“Unity is not something we can take for granted; we must actively foster it. As your flagbearer, I am committed to inclusivity and unity, with a strong determination to welcome all of you into my team and campaign. I pledge not to alienate any of you. I stand in solidarity with you, regardless of your initial support.”
The NPP International Conference was attended by representatives from the party’s external branches across the world.
