“You don’t deserve any applause for terminating PDS contract”– Group to Gov’t
The coalition of social Justice (CSJ) has criticized government’s handling of the PDS concession agreement.
Government on Friday announced its intention to terminate the contract with the Power Distribution Services (PDS) over some irregularities in the company’s payment guarantees.
This decision by government has generated criticism from sections of the public who believe government did not do due diligence in awarding the contract.
But deputy energy minister in charge of power, William Owuraku Aidoo says government must be given a pat on the back for a good job done.

However, in a statement, the Coalition for Social Justice says government does not deserve to be praised for the termination of the concession agreement.
“the government of Ghana through its officials and other hirelings had attempted all this while to loot the ECG and its assets through this escape route of a concession agreement…we are not enthused by this termination and wouldn’t applaud the government for taking that action as it was never taken in good faith. From all indications, there has been an element of fraud and dishonesty throughout the process” the statement said.
The group is also calling for a bi-partisan probe into the individuals and collective roles played by the government officials as well as MIDA and the shareholders and directors of the consortium that make up PDS.
