You can’t squander five clear chances and expect to win – Opoku Nti

Asante Kotoko legend Opoku Nti has expressed his frustration with the club’s current attackers following their missed chances in a 1-1 draw against newly promoted Young Apostles at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday.

Young Apostles took the lead in the 51st minute through Daniel Lomotey, but Kotoko salvaged a point with a late equaliser from Emmanuel Antwi in the 79th minute.

Despite dominating possession and creating numerous opportunities, Kotoko failed to capitalize on their chances, ultimately being held to a draw by the league debutants.

Opoku Nti, who was present at the match, was critical of the team’s finishing.

“Kotoko had the upper hand over Young Apostles. You can’t squander five clear chances and expect to win the game,” Nti remarked after the match. “Going forward, the coach needs to work on finishing and the condition of the players.”

The draw saw Kotoko miss the chance to secure back-to-back wins in the Ghana Premier League, as they continue to rebuild momentum after a challenging previous season.

The Porcupine Warriors will now focus on their upcoming fixture against Berekum Chelsea, hoping to bounce back and climb the league standings.
