‘You are a tool for social change’ – ACP Kwesi Ofori tell entertainers
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, met with members of the creative Arts industry to deliberate on ways to collaborate in shaping Ghana’s public security.
Addressing the gathering of creatives, ACP Kwesi Ofori, Acting Director-General for the police service said “we recognize the fact that the creative industry plays a major role in the socio-economic development of this country”
According to him, the role the creative industry plays suggests that they are involved in the planning of the security direction and policy formulation affecting public safety.
“You are a tool for social and by that, we cannot abandon you, we need you as much as you need us” he stressed.
Earlier, the IGP and some senior Police officers had met with leaders of faith-based organizations in Accra.
“You are the movers and shakers of our society, we have observed a barrage of contemporary challenges and opportunities that comes your way, so we are here today to listen to you” he concluded.
Some creatives in attendance were Mercy Aseidu, Van Vicker,OB Amponsah, Afia Schwarzenegger,Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Kuame Eugene, Kidi, Agya Koo, Bill Asamoah, and many others.
